Directory Information and Its Release

In compliance with Section 438 of the General Education Provisions Act (Title IV of Public Law 90-247 as amended) and generally known as the Privacy Rights of Parents and Students, effective November 19, 1974, Texas A&M University Commerce gives notice that the following directory information will be released upon request: student’s name, address (permanent or local), telephone listing, date and place of birth, major field of study, minor field of study, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams, dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, and the most recent previous educational agency or institution attended by the student.

Any student who objects to the release of all or any part of the directory information on file in his or her name must notify the Registrar’s Office, Administration Building, in writing, that he or she does not wish to have such information released. This request will be honored, and all or any portion of the information which the student requests to be withheld will be held confidential by the Registrar’s Office. Any questions concerning this policy may be directed to the Registrar’s Office, Administration Building, Texas A&M University- Commerce, Commerce, Texas 75429.

University Statement of Policies

The policies, procedures, and regulations governing the conduct of students at A&MCommerce are outlined in the Student Guidebook. Copies of the Guidebook are available at the time of registration, and additional copies are available from the Dean of Students Office. It is the responsibility of the student to make himself/herself aware of said policies. Disciplinary matters are handled by the Dean of Students Office. University policies and procedures are subject to change without prior notice.

Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board

Established in 1965, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has general and specific authority in areas of academic programs, finance, and facilities and has been designated the administrator at the state level for federal educational programs.
