Meet your 2004 Alumni Ambassadors

...........................................................
They are professors, consultants and engineers. Others have achieved success in accounting, e-commerce and school administration. However, this group of 27 Alumni does have one thing in common. Wherever their endeavors take them, from this day on, they will always represent the University as Alumni Ambassadors.

More than two dozen new Alumni Ambassadors recently returned to campus to speak with faculty and students and attend a luncheon held in their honor.

At the luncheon, the Ambassadors were congratulated by President Keith McFarland, by their college deans, and by Rene Castilla, president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Dr. McFarland said that through the success of these Ambassadors, it is evident that the University is doing a good job. “You’ve gone out, you’re changing the world and making it a better place to live, and we feel we’ve played a role in that process,” he said.

These Alumni have joined a prestigious group of 568 who have received the highest honor an academic department can bestow upon a graduate.

Ambassadors honored from the College of Arts and Sciences include the following:

Biological and environmental sciences — Richard Briley, director of Health for the City of Garland and a Wills Point resident.

Chemistry — Darrell Adams, chemistry and pre -physics teacher at Skyline High School in Dallas and a Caddo Mills resident.

Computer science and information systems — Kevin Basham, founding partner of Active Service Group, International, which consults to both public and private entities regarding Homeland Security issues. Basham is a Commerce resident.
