Opportunities Abound. As we begin a new fiscal year and a new school semester, there are many opportunities in which you as alumni can become actively involved . People say to me all the time, “what can I do to get involved in support of our school?” The answer is very simple, respond positively to these many opportunities and you will become very involved. Several of the opportunities are as follows:

September 24-October 26—Loyalty Fund Campaign.
This will be our first ever “phon-a-thon” where many of our current students will be calling our alumni and asking for your support. When they contact you, respond in a positive manner and show your support for our great school. You will be glad you did.

October 14—Paris-“Re-Connect Rally”.
This rally will be a great day for the Lamar, Delta, Red River and Fannin County Alumni. Chip and Susan Harper are the primary hosts of the get together at the Depot in Paris from 2-5 p.m. Alumni in these four counties should receive your invitations very soon, so watch your mail.

October 30-November 30—Commerce Annual Fund Campaign.
Catherine Crawford, Director of Annual Giving is leading this campaign. (See picture & related story)

November 2—Donor Appreciation Banquet.
This will be our first donor appreciation banquet and will feature several very important events in one huge celebration. We will induct six new members into the Founders Circle and they include: Dr. William Carroll Adams; Mr. Robert Campbell; Brent & Melissa Dyer; Chip and Susan Harper; Hoyle & Ann Oglesby Julian; Mr. J Campbell Murrell. We will celebrate the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Texas A&M University-Commerce Foundation. All current and former Board Members will be recognized, as will all former Executive Directors.
We will also bring to a conclusion the successful $5,000,000 Capital Campaign to raise our endowment for student scholarships.

The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a reception honoring the new Founders Circle inductees and their families. The reception will be held in the Founders Lounge in the MSC. The banquet will begin at 8 p.m. in the Texas and American Ballrooms in the MSC. The featured speaker for the evening is Mr. Howard D. Graves, Chancellor of the Texas A&M University System. Other speakers include Dr. Keith McFarland, President, Texas A&M University-Commerce and Mr. Chris Adams, Chairman of the Texas A&M University-Commerce Foundation. This evening will be one of the highlights of the year on our campus, and we look forward to hosting our donors for this special recognition. Reserved parking will be available in the parking lot on the west entrance side of the MSC and in the parking lot in front of the Business Administration building.

November 3—Foundation Board Meeting.
The regular fall meeting of the Texas A&M Commerce Foundation Board will be held in the Board Room in the Business Administration building beginning 8:30 a.m. and concluding at noon. All Board members are asked to be present for this very important meeting.

November 4—Homecoming 2000.
See the back page for full details of all events.

December 2—Feast of Carols.
This is always the highlight of the Christmas season, and we look forward to hosting our donors for this exciting evening.
