AP - (Advanced Placement Program)
The College Board's® Advanced Placement Program® (AP) enables students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. AP enables students to enroll in challenging college-level studies while they are still in high school and to obtain college placement, credit, or both, on the basis of their performance on rigorous AP examinations. Thirty-four courses in 19 subject areas are offered.
- Save time. Be rewarded for what you've learned through advanced high school courses by getting college credit.
- Save money.
- Make college more interesting. Move right into more advanced courses.
The AP Program is open to all students, who are willing to accept the challenge of a rigorous curriculum, in any secondary school willing to offer AP Courses, and administer the AP Exams. AP exams are given nationally at designated high schools during the month of May. AP exams are graded on a scale of 0-5. A score of 3 or higher is needed for credit.
How do I send an AP Grade Report to a college or university?
Score reports are received annually in July for May examinees. At the time of the test you could request to send your scores to TAMU-C. If you did not request to send your scores in this manner or if you just need an additional score report, the fee for each transcript is $15. You may:
- Call 609 771-7300 or toll-free 888 225-5427.
- Send a letter with your name, gender, birth date, AP number or SS#, the year(s) you took the AP Exams, and the name, city, and state of the college(s) to receive your transcript. Send your request and a check made out to AP Exams ($15 for each transcript) to AP Exams, P.O. Box 6671, Princeton, NJ 08541-6671.
Note: For exams taken more than 4 years ago, you must send a letter and check ($25 per recipient) to the address above, including your name at the time you took the exam, date of birth, social security number, current mailing address, daytime phone number, the year the exam was taken, name of the exam, name of the high school you attended, and the name and address of the institution to which you'd like your AP grades sent.
