TOEFL
A valuable tool for students who would like to study abroad in English, the TOEFL® (Test of English as a Foreign Language™) test covers all facets of English proficiency, including a test of spoken English and grammar exercises. This test measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings.

What to expect on the day of the exam:
- Report to the McDowell Business Administration Building room 315 on the test date on your admission ticket.
- Students taking the TOEFL are generally finished approximately four and half hours (4 ½).
- Testing time includes 1 mandatory 10 minute break.
Be sure you bring these items to the test center:
- Acceptable identification. You will not be admitted to test without acceptable identification. (Click link above for clarification.)
- Sharpened soft-lead (No. 2) pencils with good erasers. (No mechanical pencils)
Do NOT bring*
- cellular phones
- watch with audible alarm
- mechanical pencils
- pens
- textbooks
- foreign language dictionaries
- dictionaries
- notes or other aids
- scratch paper
- highlighters
- Compass, protractor, ruler, or any other aids
- pagers or beepers
- photographic devices
- CD or tape players
- reading material
- food, drink (including water)
*If any of the prohibited items are brought to the center they will be taken up and turned off (if necessary). The center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
