Credit-by-Exam is granted through exams designed by departments at Texas A&M-Commerce. By receiving a satisfactory score, students can earn 3 college credits toward a college degree for each exam taken.

* Local exams are offered for some Music Dept. courses.  Please check with the Music Department Chair for more information.

Local Exams test dates and fees:

Local exams are available by appointment only.  Appointments are scheduled by each office.  Call the numbers listed above for appointment times.  The fee for the BA 195 and MIS 128 exams is $45. The fee for the BA 125 is $25. Thes fees are payable to TAMU-Commerce and are due at the time of testing. The fee for Introduction to Business (BA 195) and Business Computer Systems (MIS 128) can be paid in cash, credit card or money order, but NO personal checks. The fee for Elementary Keyboarding (BA 125) can be paid in Cash Only.

What to expect on the day of the exam:

  • Report to the office to which your test is given (see chart) on the date and time for which you are scheduled.
  • Examinees must present:
  •  Valid Photo ID
  • $25 fee

Bring these items to the test center:

  • cellular phones
  • watch with audible alarm
  • mechanical pencils
  • pens
  • textbooks
  • foreign language dictionaries
  • dictionaries
  • notes or other aids
  • scratch paper
  • highlighters
  • Compass, protractor, ruler, or any other aids
  • pagers or beepers
  • photographic devices
  • CD or tape players
  • reading material
  • food, drink (including water)

*If any of the prohibited items are brought to the center they will be taken up and turned off (if necessary). The center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
