Job Description: The Department of Agricultural Sciences is accepting applications from students to work during the summer of 2010 as a work‑study employee in the turfgrass project. Responsibilities include watering, pulling weeds, and collecting data from a shade trial that has eight zoysiagrass varieties and eight St. Augustine grass varieties. The turfgrass plots are conveniently located near the center of campus. The project director will help train the student in the use of scientific equipment used to measure turfgrass and environmental conditions. Hours of work are open to accommodate student class schedules. The project is one of several departmental projects intended to improve our nation’s environment, food quality, energy efficiency, quality of life, agricultural safety, and farm profitability.
