SUBMITTING NEWSThe Office of News Service works with all sorts of media – local newspapers, community newspapers and newsletters, national publications, specialty magazines, journals, television, radio, and now, on-line media. While we are appreciative if someone prepares a draft of a story or suggested press release, we do our own writing. Sometimes we don’t say things exactly as you might like. You may think our punctuation, spelling or capitalization is strange. But we conform to a style that is acceptable to the vast majority of U.S. publications, a style described in the stylebook of the Associated Press. News Release Request Form We will help publicize your event, program, or achievement. If you are interested in having a news release prepared and distributed to the local media for the purpose of gaining publicity, we ask that you take a moment and fill out the form below. It will help us produce a news release with greater efficiency and accuracy. Please complete the form as much as possible; you must include a contact name, e-mail address, and phone number in order for this form to be submitted to our office. Also, if you are seeking to publicize an event, you must provide the date, time, location and cost. If the questions below do not adequately address the type of information you are submitting, please use the space marked “Special Instructions” at the end of this web page to provide the appropriate description.
