DONALD L. CARUTH, Ph.D., SPHR
DONALD L. CARUTH is Professor of Management at Texas A&M University- Commerce. He holds a Ph.D. in management from the University of North Texas and a B.B.A. in economics from Southern Methodist University.
For over thirty years, he has been a consultant specializing in human resource systems and management development programs. Dr. Caruth is also an expert witness in employment cases concerning negligent hiring, termination, sexual harassment, and discrimination.
A native Texan, Dr. Caruth has held managerial positions in consulting, construction, and education. He has been a member of the faculty of American Intercontinental University Online, Our Lady of the Lake University, Amberton University, the University of Dallas, the University of North Texas, and the University of Hawaii. As an educator his teaching specialties are human resource management and business strategy.
Dr. Caruth is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), an accreditation conferred by the Society for Human Resource Management. He is also a Certified Health Promotion Director, a Certified Personal Trainer, and a Certified Sports Nutrition Counselor.
He is the author of nineteen books, eighty-seven journal articles, and two poems.
Recently Dr. Caruth was named “Rotarian of the Year” for 2005 by the Rockwall Rotary Club.
A professional speaker who has appeared on television, radio, and addressed national, regional, and other business and professional groups, Dr. Caruth has run the Boston Marathon and the Honolulu Marathon. When asked what his times were in these events, he always replies, “I started and finished the same day!”
