Specialization in ESL (English as a Second Language)
For Interdisciplinary Studies Majors (Elementary Teaching). Required courses in the specialization (18 semester hours):

Six semester hours from:
- English 301
- English 331 or English 424
- One half of student teaching in an ESL classroom.
Specialization in Bilingual
For Interdisciplinary Studies Majors (Elementary Teaching). Required courses in the specialization (21 semester hours):
- English 301 or English 331
- English 358
- English 457
- English 462
- Spanish 331
- Spanish 332
- Spanish 341 or Spanish 354
- One half of student teaching in a Bilingual classroom.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement
- English 358
- English 301 or English 331
- English 457 and English 462
- Student teaching in ESL or one year's teaching experience in an ESL or Bilingual classroom
- Pass the ESL ExCET
