Economic Time Series
A comprehensive collection of freely available economic data useful for economic research, in particular economic forecasting. There are over 100,000 time series and charts (in GIF or PDF format) that can be modified by date or percentage changes; excel spreadsheets for 8,500 of the most popular series are also available. The core data sets involve US macroeconomic data (for the whole US), but the bulk of it is employment data by local area - state, county, and MSA. Data titles include the following: interest rates, consumer credit, industrial production, retail sales, building permits, labor statistics, tax collections, GDP, GSP, and much more, plus series from the Bank of Canada and Bank of Japan. Fairmodel
Developed by Yale Professor of Economics Ray C. Fair, FAIRMODEL's large scale macroeconometric analysis involves 131 interrelated equations that, taken together, approximate how the economy works. Work with a U.S. macroeconometric model (the US model) or a multicountry econometric model (the MC1 or MC2 model) to forecast, do policy analysis, and examine historical episodes. Users can make changes in variables like tax and interest rates and calculate their effects on the economy. Any or all of the data can be downloaded, printed, and saved.
