Robert E. Sibert Award

Robert E. Sibert Award is given annually (1st time 2001) to the author of the most distinguished informational book published during the preceding year. Information books are defined as those written and illustrated to present, organize and interpret documentable factual material for children. There are no limitations as to the character of the book, although poetry and traditional literature are not eligible. The award is named in honor of Robert E. Sibert, the long-time president of Bound to Stay Books, Inc. of Jacksonville, IL, and is sponsored by the company.
