Database Help:
Important reminders

Reminders for all database users
- Citing
Electronic Resources
is a special section of the library's web site, under the link Internet
Subject Resources.
- Check there for examples
of citing electronic resources from APA and MLA style manuals, as well as
other suggested web sites.
- This web site only
contains information about the more heavily used databases.
- Please call the Reference
Desk at 886-5720 for assistance in choosing and searching other electronic
and print resources.
Reminders for faculty
- Reference librarians
can provide instruction to your students for any of the library databases.
- This instruction can
be tailored to a very specific assignment, or can be general in nature. Please
call the reference desk at 886-5720 to schedule library instruction sessions.
- Many students are
confused about the difference between finding an article in an electronic
library database that is web-based, and locating information on the web (i.e.
surfing, using a search engine).
- Be sure you clarify this
important difference for your students.
