Accessing Agricola

You can access Agricola by clicking on the Agricola link from the Library Databases web page. (The proxy server is not required, as this database is provided free of charge by the National Agricultural Library.)

You can also access Agricola through FirstSearch, both in the library and from the web page. To do this, simply click on the FirstSearch icon.

Using Agricola - FirstSearch

We recommend using the FirstSearch interface when searching Agricola because it allows easier searching, more flexible searching, and a better display of your search results. Please refer to Searching FirstSearch for more information about this interface.

Using Agricola - NAL web site

From the Agricola title page, you can select from a variety of search types (Search & Browse, Keyword Search, or Advanced Keyword Search) in either the books section or the articles section. Most of our patrons go to the articles section and find the Keyword Search easiest to use.

In the Keyword Search, type your search words or phrases in the Word or Phrase boxes. If desired, you can change the Search Type from any keyword to author, title, or subject keyword. For more information on how to enter your search, look below the search boxes at the section marked Search Hints. To start your search, click on the Start button. You will be given a list of items to choose from, and you can view the whole record by clicking on its blue hyperlink.
