BOSTON GLOBE—HORN BOOK AWARDS |
Since 1967, The Boston Globe and The Horn Book, Inc. have co-sponsored the Boston Globe—Horn Book Awards for excellence in literature for children and young adults. The awards are considered among the most prestigious in the nation.
A Committee comprised of three professionals involved in the field of children’s literature evaluates thousands of submissions from United States publishers to select winners in three categories: Picture Book, Fiction, and Nonfiction. The judges may also name several honor books in each category. On occasion, a book will receive a special citation for its high quality and overall creative excellence. Eligible books must be published in the United States, though they may be written or illustrated by citizens of any century.
