PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Assists the Admissions and School Relations Director with supervision and direction of counselors, recruiters and the Project Center.  Responsible for administrative reporting activities and electronic automation systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.     Heads admissions office student information system (SIS) automation team.

  1. Develops electronic applications and systems for admissions and recruiting communications.
  2. Reports data for both internal and external constituencies.
  3. Works with Coordinating Board, College Board, ACT and other agencies to incorporate their processes and data into our recruiting strategies and reporting structure.
  4. Represents the University at programs at high schools, community colleges, businesses and at professional meetings.
  5. Serves as team member in recommending general academic scholarships to entering freshment and transfer students.
  6. Serves as required on University committees.
  7. Contributes to the recruitment and retention of students as a key member of the Enrollment Management division.
  8. Serves as liaison to Office of Financial Aid in processing newly admitted students.
  9. Develops response system and directs admission office personnel for timely responses to student inquiries about admission to the University.
  10. Develops and maintains an office workflow process for undergraduate applications and supporting documents for the University’s information system.
  11. Serves as team leader for Enrollment Management Strategic Enrollment Management module.
  12. Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.
  13. This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case by case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years experience.  Must be familiar with all academic programs of TAMU-C.  Must be familiar with geography of Texas to adequately schedule programs on a statewide and region wide basis.  Knowledge of and experience with Title IV Financial Aid Programs preferred.  Completion of some graduate work preferred.  Requires frequent work after hours and on weekends.  Experience in public speaking helpful.

SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL:

Supervise counseling department intern each semester; student worker; school relations advisors and volunteer student recruiters.
