| Communications from Senate President Crenshaw | Senate President Crenshaw met with the University President and Provost. They discussed the following issues: Faculty Development Leave:President Crenshaw indicated that we would continue to follow System Policy as written in forwarding recommendations to the Chancellor. Employee Criminal Background Checks:President Crenshaw indicated that we are letting the Faculty Senate at College Station lead the way in this effort to modify the proposed policy. They (the FS) seem to have it well in hand. New TAMU system policy was developed in College Station. DropPass/DropFail Grade Policy:President Von Duvillard is encouraged to have a committee investigate the Drop Pass/Drop/Fail policies currently in place. As mentioned in the May Minutes--review sought for DP/DF grading policy. DP does not impact grade point average. DF is the same as a grade of âFâ. Is the DF grade necessary? The date for dropping a course needs to be moved to an earlier time in the semester. Tenure and Promotion:The College of Arts and Sciences has completed their tenure and promotion guidelines, they are approved, and will be available on the web-site. |
