About OSP

The OSP supports excellence in research and scholarship by encouraging the discovery of new knowledge across all disciplines.  By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, our faculty members continue to build an environment of discovery and innovation.

Our office assists A&M-Commerce faculty and staff to gain external funding by providing various services.  Through workshops, seminars and training sessions, our staff works with faculty members to identify and secure external funding to support their research endeavors.

Research News

The National Science Foundation has awarded two new grants to TAMUC faculty. “Scholarships and Research Experiences for Transfer Students to Excel in Science and Engineering” ($593,700) was funded under the S-STEM initiative and will be led by Principal Investigator Dr. Ben Jang and Co-PIs Dr. Matthew Elam, Dr. Jeffrey Kopachena and Dr. Bao-An Li.

The Major Research Instrumentation grant ($310,000) will provide state-of-the-art time of flight Mass Spectrometer available to all of the science departments under the leadership of  Principal Investigator Dr. Laurence Angel and Co-PIs Dr. Stephen Starnes, Dr. Nenad Kostic and Dr. Frank Miskevich.

Maximizing Motivation (M2T2) a $992,663 grant from the National Science Foundation will be led by Principal Investigator Dr. Gil Naizer, and Co-PIs Dr. Sam Saffer, Dr. Tracy Henley, and Dr. Bao-An Li. This three year grant targets gaming technology to motivate students to pursue careers in STEM workforce and will include both public school teachers and students.
