Purpose:

Establish campus trading post for university departments

To encourage transfer of idle equipment within departments

Maximize the use of university assets

Gain departments financial benefit from transferring idle property

Follow guidelines of GSC and THECB concerning surplus property including TDCJ computer recycle program


Process:

Step 1: Post items to Campus Trading Post website for two-week period

(allow adoption or purchase, available to departments only)

Step 2: Post items to THECB Website for a 30 day period

(available to departments & others, i.e. school districts)

Step 3: Physical transfer of useful items to Surplus

(to establish supply of useful equipment*)

Step 4: Transfer equipment, deemed unusable to Salvage

(maintain equipment for TDCJ Computer Recycle Program)

(maintain salvage equipment for auction or sale)


*A limited number of computers will be available for departments to borrow for a temporary period.
