The William Carroll Adams Endowment Fund
After joining the military and returning from the Korean War, Dr. Adams obtained his
bachelor's degree in Economics in 1951 from the University of Central
Arkansas and his master's and doctoral degree in 1963 from the University of
Arkansas-Fayetteville. Dr. Gee personally offered Dr. Adams a position as an
Economics professor at Texas A&M University-Commerce, and it is where he
remained for his entire career. He founded several committees to
which he was often the head chair, and he did not step down until his middle
sixties.
The endowment for this award was created in 1996 by friends and former students in honor of his thirty-fifth year as a teacher at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Upon his retirement, Dr. Adams was named Professor
Emeritus in recognition of his service to the University.
