Bobby & Linda Carmichael Student Organization Endowment

This endowment was established by Dr. Bobby J. Carmichael and his wife Linda to support the activities of Beta Alpha Psi. The goal is provide money for scholarships and to enrich the lives of the students by providing funds for various activities that will help them develop their interpersonal skills. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance at professional meetings and related activities; extracurricular activities, and the Outstanding BAP Member and Pledge Awards each semester.

Dr. Carmichael, his wife Linda, and daughter Taiji moved to Commerce in 1980. He has taught in all areas of accounting during his tenure, with special emphasis on income tax and financial accounting. Dr. Carmichael was the faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi from 1995 - 2000 and served on the National Board for Beta Alpha Psi and as Regional Director from 2000 - 2004.

His wife Linda received her MBA from Texas A&M University-Commerce (East Texas State University) after she moved here and then was Director of Student Accounts in the Fiscal Office until her retirement in 2002 upon the birth of her only grandson. Since that time, she has been a full-time grandmother with regular commutes between San Diego, CA and now Casa Grande, AZ.

His daughter Taiji, received her BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University-Commerce (East Texas State University) and worked for several different companies in California in marketing before becoming a full-time mother and is currently involved in running a home based consulting business with her husband.
