How to Change Your Network Password

If your password has not yet expired.

From Outlook WebMail:

  1. Open WebMail. *Note* There are other ways this can be done but this is one of the more reliable methods.

    1. Go to the TAMU-Commerce home page:  Home Page

    2. Below the picture and above the Quick Links, select WebMail.

  2. From the WebMail page, select the last choice (Faculty and Staff Outlook)

  3. On the gold page, enter either the part of your email address before the @ sign *or* your first name and last name separated by a space.

  4. Press Enter.

  5. A sign-on window will pop  up.  Enter your username, usually your last name followed by your first name with no spaces separating the two names (e.g. SmithSarah) and your password.

  6. Press Enter.

  7. Select Options from the icons on the far left.  This will open the Options dialogue box.

  1. From the Options dialogue box, click the Change Password button (towards the bottom).

  1. In the Internet Service Manager dialogue box, enter the appropriate information.

  1. The domain is CTIS, the Account is your username in the form above (lastnamefirstname), the Old Password is the one you are currently using (the one you used to get this far), and you  must enter a new password twice.

  2. For password requirements, click here.

  3. Click OK.  You should receive a confirmation dialogue.  If you receive an error message, you must contact Technology Services at 903-468-6000 and may be required to come to our office and show an ID.

From your computer (on campus):

  1. Press ctrl-alt-delete to access the Windows Security applet

  2. Select Change Password.

  3. Enter your OLD password.  TAB to the next field (do not press ENTER).

  4. Enter your new password twice tabbing between fields.

  5. Press ENTER or click OK.

Note that this *may* work even if your password has expired.

If your password has already expired.

  • You may be able to follow the directions above for changing your password via your Outlook WebMail.  However, you will probably be taken directly to the Internet Service Manager dialogue box.

  • If you are on campus you may be able to follow the directions for changing your password via the Windows Security applet.

  • You may be asked to come to our office and show an ID to change your network password.

All questions should be directed to Technology Services at 903-468-6000.
