The Chemistry Department provides a broad range of subject matter courses and opportunity for independent research at the master's level. Programs are designed to provide suitable preparation for public school teaching, for governmental and industrial employment, and for research.
Chemistry laboratories are equipped for research in physical, organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry. Modern chemical instrumentation includes NMR, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, atomic absorption, and gas and liquid chromatographs; an ultracentrifuge; a cold room, and standard laboratory instruments.
There are two options of study for a M.S. in Chemistry.

OPTION 1
is intended as preparation for employment as a professional chemist or further advanced study in chemistry or a related field. |
