Agricultural Education


The Master of Education in Agricultural Education is available to students who meet the admission criteria and are either seeking teacher certification or have already obtained certification to teach in Texas public schools and wish to prepare for career advancement in the educational professions. The M.Ed. in Agricultural Education is available to serve students in the Transition to Teaching in Agriculture/Family & Consumer Sciences alternative teacher certification program but may be completed by other education professionals who have an interest in program planning, development, and evaluation.

Additional Electives* 18

Additional electives may be selected from a combination of disciplines or within the same discipline. Some suggested disciplines for electives include: agricultural sciences, counseling, educational administration, educational technology, psychology, or special education. Students may also enroll in graduate courses within the family and consumer sciences teaching field at Texas Woman's University or University of North Texas through the Federation of North Texas Universities with approval from an advisor and the Graduate School.

Admission Criteria:

1. Bachelor's degree in an agricultural, family, or consumer related discipline with an overall GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or 3.0 on the last 60 semester hours.

2. Acceptable GRE score (consult departmental advisor for guidelines).
